At Just Brands, quality is at the heart of everything we do—because high-quality clothing has a longer lifespan, reducing waste. But we know that creating clothing impacts the environment. That’s why we’re also taking action to minimize this impact by choosing more sustainable materials and processes, improving packaging, and optimizing transport.
Targets
100% use of more sustainable materials for all fabrics and components in our garments, according to our own enhanced material standards.
We've mapped out the goals for each and every garment and product category.

Purchasing practices
We prioritise strong, equal, and long partnerships with our manufacturers. Through open, honest communication, we understand the impact of our buying decisions on their operation and their communities. Armed with this knowledge, we push to make every procurement decision as responsible as possible.

Material policy
We created a Material and Animal Welfare Policy with clear rules for sourcing raw materials. All our manufacturers sign this policy, agreeing to follow the rules, keep detailed records, trace material origins, and share this information with us on demand. This keeps us fully informed about where our materials come from.

Restricted substances list
We are committed to ensuring that every product we sell and produce is safe for people and the environment. We demand the same high standards from our suppliers. That’s why, together with an expert, we created our own Restricted Substances List (RSL). This list goes beyond the chemicals restricted by European law (REACH). We entirely ban certain substances and strictly limit others. To enforce these rules, we conduct regular tests with an independent agency, guided by a thorough risk analysis.

Sustainable materials
We’re constantly training our team and staying ahead of industry developments to make our collections more sustainable. By 2030, our goal is clear: 100% of our materials will be more sustainable.

Transport
Transport plays a key role in getting our products into stores across multiple countries. Since our suppliers, warehouses, and stores aren’t all in the same place, transport is unavoidable. But we know it comes with CO2 emissions, so we work hard to make it as sustainable and efficient as we can.
By sea
We transport goods from the Far East by sea. To maximise efficiency, we work with our carrier to strive for containers that are packed as full as possible—minimising wasted space and air.
Trucks
For goods from the Middle East and Eastern Europe, we use trucks. Just like with sea transport, we work with our carrier in Turkey to strive to get the trucks fully loaded. By combining shipments, we make the best use of space and reduce unnecessary trips.
Planes
When time is tight and sea transport isn’t an option, we turn to air transport.

Packaging
We use packaging for delivering goods to our warehouse, stores, and customers. But packaging is often used once and then thrown away, which has a direct impact on the environment.
At Just Brands, we’re taking action to reduce this impact with smarter, more sustainable solutions:
- With shipments we send from our manufacturers, we stopped using plastic straps around the boxes. This saves us up to 4,000 kg of plastic straps annually.
- A new shirt-folding technique made the use of plastic clips redundant, saving 5,500 kg of plastic annually.
- For B2B deliveries, we re-use supplier boxes in our warehouse, saving nearly 41,000 kg of cardboard each year.
- Our polybags are now made from 75% recycled material.

TRANSPARENCY
At Just Brands, transparency is a core value. We believe it’s essential for everyone— from manufacturers to customers—to clearly understand our stance on sustainability and the actions we’re taking. We also ask all our garment manufacturers across the globe to be transparent. Our manufacturers are free to choose their print houses, dye houses, and laundries—as long as they share all details. Once we purchase our collections, they must register the addresses of these partners. This keeps our production chain clear and helps us quickly address risks or developments in those areas.
Moreover, we take transparency to the next level by openly sharing all the garment factories we partner with on our supplier map.
